Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon at StreamerHouse
FromSoftware went back to mechs in August 2023 with Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon, and the house followed for two years. Twenty-eight and a half hours of us piloting custom-built metal across 2023 and 2025, mastering build customization, energy management, and three-dimensional combat that made Dark Souls feel slow. This was FromSoft's first non-Soulsborne title since Sekiro, bringing something completely different to the post-Elden Ring audience. Critics called it their most beautiful game to date with absolutely fantastic combat. The story was familiar FromSoft stuff, and boss difficulty spiked hard, but the house didn't care. We spent two years learning why mech customization was more complex than any armor system they'd ever built. FromSoftware proved they could excel beyond Souls games, and we documented the passion project that elevated Armored Core's original concepts through their technical mastery.
