Assassin's Creed Syndicate
PS4Assassin's Creed Syndicate at StreamerHouse
Syndicate dropped in October 2015 as Ubisoft's apology tour after Unity's nightmare launch. Set in Industrial Revolution London, it starred twins Jacob and Evie Frye and introduced carriage chases and a grappling hook that made traversal feel less like parkour and more like Spider-Man cosplay. Reviews were cautiously positive—Metacritic settled at 77—but the game still shipped with a day-one patch fixing everything from desynchronization bugs to collision detection failures to invisible character models in cutscenes. TechRadar published a "long list of Day 1 bugs" that included frame rate drops, NPCs hovering in midair, and texture pop-in that made the city look like it was loading on a Commodore 64. Still, players agreed it was "hugely more polished than Unity," which was the lowest possible bar. StreamerHouse ran Syndicate in 2015, appreciating the Victorian aesthetic and dual-protagonist structure while silently praying the game wouldn't crash mid-sequence. The CPU usage pinned at 100% on many systems, causing freezes on dual-core setups. Despite the bugs, Syndicate sold respectably and reminded everyone that when Ubisoft isn't faceplanting on launch, they can still make a competent open-world brawler.
