We loaded up Assassin's Creed Syndicate in October 2015 knowing Ubisoft had something to atone for after Unity's nightmare. Victorian London, dual protagonists Jacob and Evie Frye, carriage chases—it looked like redemption. The game shipped with the usual day-one patch nightmare (invisible cutscene characters, texture pop-in, CPU pinned at 100%), but our assassin's creed syndicate stream in 2015 was about seeing a studio learning. It wasn't perfect, but it felt genuinely competent again.
