Atomfall at StreamerHouse
Atomfall launched on March 27, 2025 from Rebellion Developments, hitting Game Pass day one and immediately becoming the studio's biggest launch ever with 1.5 million players in the first week. By three weeks, it crossed 2 million. Set in an alternate 1957 where the Windscale nuclear disaster irradiated the Lake District, the game mixed first-person survival, crafting, and detective work in a punishingly difficult world inspired by Children of Men. You're not a badass—you're an everyman who dies as easily as the enemies. Ammo is scarce, dialogue choices matter, and the skill tree lets you specialize in combat, survival, or base stats. Reviews were mixed, but the accessibility features earned a Game Awards 2025 nomination. StreamerHouse's 346-viewer peak in 2025 reflected curiosity about "Fallout in England," though Rebellion insisted it was more survival-horror than RPG. The developers called it a "desperate" game where forethought beats firepower. Post-launch content included the Wicked Isle expansion in June and The Red Strain DLC in September, proving Rebellion was committed despite the mixed critical reception. CEO Jason Kingsley celebrated the milestone, and players appreciated a single-player game that didn't hold your hand or apologize for being hard.
