We grabbed Breakaway in 2017 during Amazon's big esports push—a 4v4 mythological brawler designed to be the next big thing. Hit 503 peak viewers when the hype was still real and the game wasn't yet confirmed dead. We watched Amazon cycle through Spartacus, Morgan Le Fay, and Vlad the Impaler for 4.3 hours as the community held its breath. By October 2017, Kotaku reported the project was basically shelved, and March 2018 made it official. Another Amazon swing, another miss.
