Content Warning at StreamerHouse
Content Warning exploded in April 2024 from Landfall (the Totally Accurate Battle Simulator crew), a co-op horror game where you film spooky footage in an underground nightmare realm to go viral on "SpöökTube." The game launched April 1st as Landfall's annual April Fools' release tradition, free for 24 hours—and 6.2 million Steam users claimed it. Within 12 hours, it hit 50,000 concurrent players. By 24 hours, over 200,000. The premise was Lethal Company meets Phasmophobia: four players descend into "The Old World" with cameras, film monsters for 3 days, upload to SpöökTube, earn ad revenue, buy better gear, repeat. The game was developed in one month during a Seoul game jam by five developers. By mid-April 2024, it had sold 1 million additional copies beyond the free claims. StreamerHouse's 250-viewer peak in 2024 came during the initial viral explosion, when everyone was trying to one-up each other with cursed footage. The November 2025 update added 48 achievements and bug fixes, proving Landfall was committed to post-launch support. Content Warning's success was lightning in a bottle—a simple, fun co-op horror concept executed perfectly and distributed at the perfect cultural moment when "influencer horror" was peak meme. Landfall turned a one-month jam project into a phenomenon by giving it away, then cashing in on FOMO. Genius.
