Dungeon Hunter Champions at StreamerHouse
Dungeon Hunter Champions hit StreamerHouse in 2018 for 1,041 peak viewers as Gameloft tried pivoting their mobile hack-n-slash franchise into a cross-platform MOBA hybrid. The game soft-launched in Philippines in August 2017, expanded to Canada and Vietnam in March 2018, then launched globally on iOS, Android, and PC December 19, 2018. The TouchArcade community response was lukewarm—Dungeon Hunter fatigue had set in after previous mobile entries disappointed. Gameloft marketed it as "taking the franchise in a new direction," featuring traditional ARPG campaign plus a 5v5 multiplayer mode essentially bolted onto the formula. The art style went cartoonish compared to previous titles, and cross-platform play let players "switch between PC and mobile without restrictions." Launch issues plagued the Steam version, requiring January 2019 hotfixes. The game never caught fire—blending ARPG and MOBA satisfied neither audience fully. StreamerHouse grinding to over 1,000 viewers showed initial curiosity, but Dungeon Hunter Champions represented Gameloft chasing trends instead of mastering their niche. Sometimes "new direction" just means "confused identity."
