Fractured Veil

Fractured Veil hit the house in 2021 and pulled 401 peak viewers into a multiplayer survival experience that few people talked about outside that moment. We got to be there as the survival genre corpses continued piling up on Steam—competent games buried under the weight of more established competition. Survival games need critical mass for matchmaking and server populations; fall below that threshold and you hit a death spiral. Fractured Veil was probably fine as a game, but fine doesn't cut it when Valheim, Rust, and ARK dominate the space. We gave visibility to another solid title fighting a brutal market, but the limited coverage suggests it joined the genre's graveyard of decent games that couldn't break through the noise.
