We picked up Grounded fresh in 2020 when Obsidian dropped it into early access—the whole concept of being shrunk to ant-size in a backyard full of hostile insects felt like the perfect survival game chaos. We streamed it on and off through 2020, 2021, and 2022, following the game as it evolved from janky early access to the full release that eventually hit 20+ million players. The streaming experience captured something special about watching a survival game unfold in real-time, dealing with bugs both digital and literal. By 2022 when it hit full release, we'd already logged 55 hours total—not a massive time commitment compared to our truly obsessive runs, but enough to see Obsidian nail the "shrunk humans in a suburban nightmare" vibe.

The grounded twitch stats tell a solid story for a tier-2 game. We averaged 331 viewers across those 55 hours streamed, with peak viewership hitting 672 when curiosity around the premise was highest. The grounded average viewers number stayed pretty consistent, which made sense—people knew what they were getting into. Across the entire run, folks watched nearly 18,000 hours of our grounded streaming. The game never became one of our all-time plays, but it earned its place in the house.
