September 2020—Supergiant shipped Hades out of early access and we were locked in. One session, 1.3 hours, 226 average viewers, but that 240-viewer peak mattered because the people watching got it. This wasn't just another roguelike grind. The story hooks reeled people in, the combat mechanics rewarded skill, and Zagreus' voice acting made death feel personal instead of frustrating. We watched discovery runs, progression runs, people actually caring about dialogue between attempts. That's when roguelikes crossed the threshold from "game you play" to "game you live in."
