Lords of the Fallen

We brought Hexworks' Lords of the Fallen reboot to the house in 2023, and it was a ride. Thirty-two and a half hours of dual-realm mechanics, that Axiom/Umbral world-switching concept that critics loved even if they complained about everything else. The house streamed through the frustration—more enemies equals more difficulty philosophy that felt unfair rather than challenging, performance issues that made boss fights annoying, those gamebreaking bugs early adopters dealt with. But we stuck with it. Over the following months, we watched as 30+ patches gradually transformed the game from Mixed to Mostly Positive on Steam. By April 2024's Master of Fate update, we came back to showcase the improvements. That patience paid off—the house proved sometimes you gotta let a troubled launch prove itself.

Over 32.8 hours streamed in 2023, Lords of the Fallen brought in 336 peak viewers and nearly 9,000 hours watched. That's a respectable 273 average per stream—solid engagement for a soulslike that had mixed critical reception at launch. The house saw what Hexworks was trying to do and appreciated when they actually pulled it off.
