Ryse: Son of Rome looked beautiful on Xbox One, and we streamed it right out of the gate in 2013. The quick-time action sequences and brutal finishing moves had viewers on edge during those early weeks of the console. It was flashy, linear, and honestly a bit hollow under the surface—we could tell pretty fast. But it served its purpose as a launch window showcase. The house appreciated the visual spectacle even if the gameplay didn't demand a ton of strategy.
