The DioField Chronicle

Square Enix took a swing with The DioField Chronicle in 2022, and we swung with them. Twenty-eight hours of real-time tactical RPG experimentation—the house appreciated what they were trying to do even if critics weren't sure about the direction. We navigated the isometric battlefields, managed unit positioning, and discovered that real-time tactics could be just as engaging as turn-based when the dev team understood their own systems. The year was 2022, and this game felt like Square Enix asking what happens if we take our tactical DNA and make it happen in real-time. Some elements worked beautifully. Others fell short. But the house respected the ambition—not every game needs to be a safe bet, and this one earned its place in our archive by trying something different.

Our 28 hours with The DioField Chronicle in 2022 generated 9,783 hours watched with 423 peak concurrent viewers. We averaged 346 viewers per stream—solid engagement for a tactical title from a major publisher. The house showed that real-time tactics had an audience willing to experiment with new approaches.
