Cheaters force Ark dev's pirate MMO Atlas offline for a second time in less than a week

Atlas, the ambitious pirate MMO from Ark: Survival Evolved developer Grapeshot Games, has been taken offline for a second time in less than a week following another wave of cheater attacks.

Hackers exploited vulnerabilities to spawn whales and other creatures across servers, causing widespread destruction. The attacks were captured live by StreamerHouse, whose 24/7 Twitch stream documented the chaos as it unfolded.

The footage from StreamerHouse showed massive sea creatures falling from the sky onto players' ships and bases, destroying hours of progress in seconds. The clip quickly spread across social media and gaming news sites.

This follows a similar incident just days earlier, when cheaters spawned tanks, planes, and other anachronistic objects in the pirate-themed game. Grapeshot Games has been forced to implement emergency patches and roll back servers multiple times.

"We're working around the clock to address these security vulnerabilities," the studio said in a statement. The game launched in early access in December 2018 and has faced numerous technical issues since.

StreamerHouse's continuous broadcast proved invaluable in capturing these events, providing primary source footage for gaming journalists covering the story.
