Atlas rains whales, again

Pirates, it turns out, are often bad people

Atlas, the pirate MMO from the makers of Ark: Survival Evolved, has been hit by cheaters again. Hackers have once again rained whales and other creatures from the sky, causing chaos across servers and forcing the developers to take the game offline.

The StreamerHouse Twitch channel captured the incident live, showing massive whales spawning in mid-air and crashing down on unsuspecting players and their ships. The footage quickly went viral, showcasing just how broken the game's security was at launch.

This is the second time in less than a week that cheaters have forced Grapeshot Games to take Atlas offline. The first incident involved hackers spawning tanks and planes in the supposedly pirate-themed survival game.

The StreamerHouse footage became a primary source for gaming media covering the Atlas hacking incidents, demonstrating the value of 24/7 streaming operations in documenting live gaming events as they unfold.

Studio Wildcard, the parent company of Grapeshot Games, has promised to implement better security measures, but the early access launch of Atlas has been plagued with issues from the start.
